Rates and minimum charges
The standard rate for hourly development, investigation and troubleshooting is A$165 per hour including GST (A$150 plus GST).
- New standalone jobs: a one-hour minimum charge of A$165 including GST, then 15-minute increments.
- Small follow-ups for existing clients: a 15-minute minimum, then 15-minute increments.
- Each 15-minute increment: A$41.25 including GST (A$37.50 plus GST).
We confirm the applicable minimum before starting. A new, separate job for an existing client may have the standalone-job minimum; small follow-ups use the shorter minimum above.
How billable time is counted
Time is billed in 15-minute increments, rounded up after applying the agreed minimum. Related emails, calls and small actions are combined with the job’s other time within each billing period before rounding. The one-hour minimum is applied once when a new standalone job starts.
Chargeable work can include agreed investigation, development, testing, deployment, documentation and project communication. The proposal or service agreement identifies the work included.
Estimates and project quotes
Larger projects receive a scoped estimate or fixed-price proposal, with agreed deliverables and milestones where appropriate. We identify which pricing model applies before work starts.
An estimate is an indication of the likely cost based on the available information. A fixed-price quote sets the price for its defined scope and assumptions. Changes or additional work require agreement on their scope and price before proceeding.
Budget limits and approval
Before paid work starts, we agree on the scope and a price, estimate or spending limit. If the agreed limit would be exceeded, we pause and seek your approval before continuing with additional chargeable work.
Any revised scope, additional fees or change to the spending limit is agreed in writing. Making an enquiry or using the Idea Lab does not authorise paid work.
Project budgets and deposits
Before a project begins, we agree on its scope, budget and deposit. Your written proposal or service agreement sets out the deposit amount, when it is due and how it is credited against the agreed project price.
Payment arrangements, including how the deposit is treated if the work changes or is cancelled, are agreed before you pay. Your statutory rights continue to apply.
Initial discussion and paid investigation
A brief initial discussion to establish whether Ravagesoft is a suitable fit is free. Hands-on technical investigation, such as reviewing a codebase or diagnosing a fault, is paid work only after you approve its scope and fees.
Where investigation is needed before a reliable build estimate can be prepared, we agree on that investigation separately. It does not commit you to the subsequent build.
Ongoing work and external costs
Ongoing development or support can be arranged separately, with an agreed scope, allowance and availability. Any work covered by that agreement is billed on its agreed terms.
Hosting, licences, third-party services and usage charges are identified separately where applicable. We explain what is included and obtain approval for additional costs before committing to them.
Your proposal and legal rights
This page explains Ravagesoft’s standard billing policy, updated 28 October 2026. Before paid work begins, the engagement is agreed in a separate written proposal or service agreement, including its scope, fees, taxes, payment arrangements and responsibilities. Existing written agreements and accepted quotes continue to apply to the work they cover.
Reading this page or sending an enquiry does not create a paid engagement. Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law. See the website terms for how enquiries and paid work are distinguished.
